Lehigh Valley Photographer | Lawnhaven at Stroudsmoor Country Inn Wedding | Stroudsburg, PA | Kelly & Jeff

Jeff and Kelly are two amazing souls. They are fun loving, beautiful and so madly in love. Their ceremony is one of my favorites of all time. It was a light drizzle through the whole thing and they embraced it. They read their vows with such love behind their words, I don’t believe there was a dry eye in attendance. Lawnhaven at Stroudsmoor Country Inn is one of my favorite venues there. I’m so grateful they chose me to capture their day. The honor was truly mine. Jeff and Kelly, I have no doubt that your life together will be long and overflowing with love. Thank you for including me on your day. Xo Lg

Lehigh Valley Photographer | Capriotti's Palazza & Catering Wedding | McAdoo, PA | 5.19.18 | Courtney & Justin

Typically, when I have my final phone consult with my brides, I don't mention the weather because truthfully... I don't ever look at the weather. But everyone I spoke to the week before their wedding in passing said, "Going to be a wash out this weekend!" or "Hope you don't have a wedding this weekend!" and so I knew going into our phone call that weather would have to be a discussion. I assured them that no matter what, we would find a place to do photos and make beautiful portraits for them.

Fast forward to Saturday, the rain was relentless. I remember watching the girls being ushered into the house taking cover from the rain and I told Courtney that I had a back up inside plan if needed!

She looked stunning! Another bride who I've known through a club my husband is a part of in Hazleton, PA. We've been to Yankees games together and I've watched her go from a middle schooler to graduating with her doctorate. I met Justin through their family and they've been together for as long as I remember. They are the perfect compliment to each other.

As we left for the ceremony, the rain was pouring down and throughout the entire ceremony it continued. My second shooter Becky came over to me as we were setting up for the family formals in the church and she said, "You're not going to believe this but it stopped raining!" I told her not to toy with my emotions and went to look for myself and sure enough it had stopped raining. We were blessed that the outside of the church was gorgeous and we had a perfect ivy backdrop for photos. I cried happy tears when we left for the reception. When I say I'm 100% present on a wedding day, I'm all in. Emotionally involved from the word GO! No matter what the weather, I do what I can to make gorgeous photos... but what I don't always let on about rainy weddings is that they're SUPER stressful. Because I have a lot of people (bridal party, parents, MYSELF) that I'm trying to remind to stay positive so that there's no extra stress on the B&G. I love how in the photos you can't see stress. You see two people so much in love and surrounded by people who love them so much. The break in the rain was a gift from above and obviously I'm STILL super grateful for it.

The rest of the night went off perfectly. I got to hang out with DJ Adam from Skuba Entertainment who I love to work with. If you ever wonder if the uplighting package your DJ offers is worth it, be sure to check out their fun dancing shots! I also got to see my former bride, Cortney from Capriotti's Catering where the food is always delicious and the service never disappoints!

Justin and Courtney, I am so thrilled you two have found love and bring out the very best in each other! Thank you for including me on your day. I can't wait 'til you see all the photos! Xo Lg

Lehigh Valley Photographer | Woodstone Country Club Wedding | Danielsville, PA | 5.12.18 | Courtney & Dan

So Courtney and I have known each other a long time, since she's besties with my little sister. We've been to the beach together more than once and she has always been such a pleasant and positive influence around my kids.

When she and Dan got engaged and she asked me to photograph their wedding, I was thrilled! Not only because it was her and I was so happy I could be there to see her be married, it was at Woodstone Country Club which I LOVE to work at!

Dan and Court are the cutest!!! They love each other so much and although Dan was somewhat quiet through the engagement session and other meetings we've been together, I saw him relaxed and having a blast with his bride.

Just as we finished up portraits on the golf course, the sky opened up just before we made it back to the lodge on our golf carts and it poured. It was a blessing from above that I got to finish up all the photos before the sky opened up!!

As always, the food at Woodstone was awesome and DJ Freddie kept the party hoppin' all night! The bridal party was so fun and even "Iced" the one groomsman during intros... by the way, I realized I was old when last year my bride told me her groom was going to be "Iced" and I had absolutely no idea what that meant and the bridal party had to tell me.

Courtney and Dan, I wish every happiness this life has to offer and I look forward to seeing what the future brings for you.  xoLG

Lehigh Valley Photographer | Historic Hotel Bethlehem Wedding | Bethlehem, PA | 4.14.18 | Lauren & Joel

On February 3, 2018, I was kickboxing on a Saturday morning and as I was doing double roundhouse kicks to a freestanding bag, my knee bent in when I landed and I saw stars as my mind went black. As soon as the initial screaming pain went away and I started to make my way out of the karate dojo… my mind immediately went to April 14, 2018 where I knew I had to be ready to photograph my first wedding of the year. At the point of when I hurt myself, I did not know I had torn my ACL, but two days later I found out that I had. I got an MRI that same day on Monday and I got scheduled with my surgeon to have a consultation, where he told me they like to wait at least one month to do the surgery. The reason for that is so that I can do four weeks of pre-physical therapy to get ready for the surgery. When he told me that, my heart sank and I knew that would not work for me. I said to my doctor, "What do I need to be able to do before surgery?" and he replied that my knee needs to have full range of motion before he will operate on me. So we set the surgery date for February 22 and I told him that I promise nobody will work harder to get ready for February 22 than I will. On February 20, I went for my pre-surgery consultation with my surgeon and he was very impressed with my progress. I spent at least 2 to 3 hours every day at the gym getting my muscles as strong as I could before surgery. On February 22, my surgery went well and I immediately started physical therapy again the next day.  I basically went every single day except for Sundays for six weeks. My therapist was very impressed with my determination and I told him that all I needed to do was be ready for April 14. Literally every single moment of the last seven weeks was gearing up for this wedding because I knew I had to be on my feet for 12 hours and as I've mentioned before in my blogs, there's no "kind of being present". You have to be 100% "ON" on the wedding day and I didn't want my knee to have my mind in another place. The day of the wedding I was seven weeks and two days past surgery and I was pretty freaking proud that my knee held up the whole day without any trouble. I did take a break during dinner to ice it for 30 minutes, which I think helped as well! OK enough backstory- let me tell you about the amazing wedding day!

So Joel and Lauren found me through Lauren's brother and sister-in-law's wedding, Matt and Meredith, I shot last fall at Bear Creek. We did their engagement shoot and I immediately fell love with them. I could tell they were so sweet together and so in love! I also always feel like I have a major emotional connection with the first bride and groom of the year, because the build up is so big to get to that moment and then with this year and everything that went on, I feel like that was multiplied by 100. But the excitement and anticipation didn't disappoint and the wedding was amazing.

The weather was unseasonably warm, we've had rain both before and rain after the wedding with freezing cold temperatures and in the 30s but on their wedding day it was almost 80° with a beautiful spring breeze that felt beautiful. When I got there in the morning, the guys were having a good time in the room down the hall at the Hotel Bethlehem and the girls were in the bridal suite finishing up hair and makeup. Lauren looked gorgeous, as did all the girls, and the color of the dresses were dusty pink, which is my favorite color right now, so they all looked gorgeous. I drove on the limo with the girls, as my second shooter met me at the ceremony. Their puppies surprised everyone by arriving at the ceremony after the service! After church, we headed back to the Hotel Bethlehem to do photos in the colonial district down below the hotel and oh my goodness it was incredible. The light, the people... everything was perfect!

We took them outside for some fun night shots and let them take a breather. Then they came in and danced the night away! It literally could not have been a more perfect day. At the end of the night, Joel and Lauren came up to us and told us how much it meant for them that we were there. Lauren was in tears as she hugged me and said she could not have gotten through the day without me. That hug and those words combined with the emotion I felt, made every single moment of the last two months worth it!

As a small business owner, we don't get sick days. When we do, it affects a lot of people. I knew there was no way I wouldn't be shooting that wedding, so whatever that meant for me to work as hard as I could to get there, that was what it was. I am so glad and so honored that I was with you guys to capture your day. I hope you'll always look at these photos and remember how happy that day was for you.

Joel and Lauren, I hope God will continue to bless your lives and if you decide to have little babies, remember I'm a newborn photographer as well! Xo Lg
