One of my favorite little friends, Stella! She destroyed her cake and had nothing but smiles for me. I love this little girlie so much, she brings me so much joy! Happy birthday sweet girl! Xo Lg
If you’re looking for a dose of sweetness… THIS, my friends, is as sweet as it gets! This little “Rae of Sunshine” came to visit me for her first birthday cake smash session! Raegan, your features are stunning and your personality makes everything 100 times better! Just take a look and I hope you’ll feel her sunshine radiating from this session too!
Happy first birthday baby girl…. I’m counting the days to see you back in the studio again! Xo Lg
My goal at every wedding is to be inconspicuous. I can’t be inconspicuous when I am battling elbows holding cell phones during the processional and recessional at a ceremony.
One of my favorite photos at every wedding is the bride coming down the aisle. I love it so much because she’s usually glowing. She’s being walked down by someone who she loves wholeheartedly and who undoubtedly loves her back and they’re walking towards the person she’s about to spend the rest of her life with. If you’re fortunate enough to get to be there as a guest to see that moment in person, I promise you that your cell phone version of it is going to be way lackluster compared to the live version you’ll have in your mind if you were being present and watching it with your own to eyes versus through a 4 inch screen.
Being a photographer is hardest for me during a ceremony. Particularly outdoor. Many times the light is changing because the bride is walking from a long distance. She may go from the shade of an overhang on the building to Bright sun and then down the aisle where it’s open shade with some sunlight leaks peeking through the trees on her as she proceeds. I can be all set for the light and it looks amazing and then a cloud moves in front of the sun and I have to change literally every setting on my camera to accommodate that cloud only to have it move away 20 seconds later and scramble my way back to my sunny settings. All the while, photographing a moving person in a once in a lifetime moment that can’t ever be recreated. I know what you might be thinking, “stop complaining, that’s you’re job!” I agree. And I’m not complaining. I am a professional and handling those tough lighting situations are why I can call myself that. But I can only be at one place at a time and I can’t anticipate a cell phone going out in the aisle or someone a few rows away from me stepping in front of me to get a better angle of the bride coming towards us. I don’t have time to react to that when I am shooting that moment.
I am just a bystander. A person who typically has no real tie to the couple other than being hired to capture the day. As a guest, you’re given the best gift ever, which is being able to witness a once in a lifetime moment where two people begin their life as one. Be present. Be fully present. Put your phone away and watch. And listen. And smile. And react. And be reminded of why YOU fell in love. Hold hands with your plus one and squeeze it when you feel moved.
Wedding ceremonies are the most beautiful and sacred part of the day. The photographer is there so you can be fully present. Bring your phone out for pics during cocktail hour. Reception. Whatever. But if the couple hired a professional to capture their day, they’re going to be bummed when their photos include a bunch of phone screens.
Every now and then I get a session that tugs on my heart strings. Something about the baby, their look and personality combo or the family and the history we have together. Rory is the third cake smash for this family and mom says it's the last! I love everything floral right now so I'm in love with this floral cake smash in the studio. Cake smashes are so fun and even if the babe doesn't eat all the cake or even barely takes a lick, it's still adorable and part of the first year that's so fun to capture. Xo Lg
Amazing early morning after a wedding with my bride and groom Krista and Kory for May of 2019. They were in town for Krista's birthday so thankfully the rain held off and we ended up with a gorgeous morning for pictures and a few puddles for reflection shots! They braved the water at Glen Onoko Falls and we made beautiful photos celebrating their engagement. Jim Thorpe in general is such a great spot for an engagement session, there's so many options and variety to get in just a small amount of time. So excited for this wedding next year at Capriotti's in McAdoo, PA!! Thanks for choosing me, guys! Xo Lg
We are so happy with how this turned out!!! Outside with Santaaaaaa!!!! Big shout out to our new friend Mike who let us borrow "Oatmeal" the 1956 blue truck and Danielle at The Splintered Owl for making that license plate for the truck!!
We had a great last indoor Awesome Santa day despite the snow in the evening making travel difficult. We had some smiles, some criers, and even some screamers! Thank you to everyone who made our Santa 2017 season such a success!
I made a lofty pledge of 500 #holidayhopechests to The Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley and they actually called me concerned that I made a mistake with my pledge. I assured them I have the BEST clients in the world and I have no doubt we can get these boxes filled in no time. And boy did we! 523 gift boxes are going out to Lehigh Valley Kids thanks to YOU!!! 523 children will have a special Christmas because of YOU! Don't ever be one of those people who think that your "little" effort won't make a difference. If you do something nice for one person, ONE SINGLE PERSON... the ripple effect could be endless. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't make a difference. You can do anything. And with enough help, you can take a lot of small efforts and make a massive change in this world that is craving goodness and love. I love you all so much. You blow me away every year with how amazing you are. I am just the vehicle that opened your eyes to this need! YOU did this! I'm so freaking proud!
In other huge news, Santa and I will be announcing the winner of the $500 LG gift certificate this Saturday after our last session! For the surprise... we had an anonymous donation of another $500 gift certificate and we will be splitting it up in 5-$100 LG gift certificates to those who donated a box! So you now have 6 chances to win something!!! 'Tis the season, be a blessing every chance you can. Thank you all so much. #lgbehindthescenes #payitforward #holidayhopechests
The REAL Santa comes to LG Photography for some of our favorite days of the whole year... the first two Santa weekends were a huge success with lots of hugs, smiles, tears and even some screamers! These photos say it all!
Christmas mini sessions in the studio this year were a huge success and the setups were so pretty and big enough for lots of family photos! These are perfect for Christmas cards and will make gorgeous prints & canvases on their walls. Just take a look at all of this sweetness!
We had such a great weekend at Kemmerer's Christmas Tree Farm this year~ make it a holiday tradition to get your tree from these guys because they are awesome! I promise you won't be disappointed and they're so good to me to allow me to come and set up there every year. One of my annual clients drive 45 minutes back to the farm because they love their trees and they last all season!
So many of the families in these photos have been making a yearly tradition of coming to me for the tree farm minis~ I just love seeing their smiling faces and kiddos growing year after year. Loved my setups this year and everyone's outfits went with the color schemes perfectly!
Emma and Ella <3 my bestie's babes. They are so gorgeous I can't take it. Stop growing girlies. I love you both so much.
Caden's turning four and he loves baseball and the Yankees! I love this little guy and I met him at just a few days old and I can't believe he just turned four!
(side note: this was taken before the Yanks lost to Houston in game 7 of the ALCS... pretty sure all of us Yankee fans had smiles like this up until game six... womp, womp, womp...)
My little sister Kristin and my god daughter Rylee even got in on a few pics too- love them! <3
My buddy Bennett <3 Let me just say if I could bottle an ounce of this child's energy, I could conquer the world! I literally can't believe he is turning two when I feel like it was just a few months ago I did his cake smash! I love watching these kiddos turn another year older! Thanks for the smiles, Benny!
This little pumpkin, Georgia, is turning TWO! She brought her smiles with her to the studio! I love when she comes to see me! <3 I can't believe how big she grew over the year! Too sassy and TWO cute for words!
These boys are so handsome! I remember the last time they came I couldn't stop talking about it! Beautiful family inside and out and that puppy there, Catcher, he was so well behaved... he's welcome anytime! So glad the weather held off and we were able to get beautiful shots of these guys after a rain out!
Ryan and Angela had me laughing the whole shoot! Their wedding will, no doubt, be a great time! Thanks for choosing me guys!
I love it so much when I get to be around these guys! We had an early morning session and the light was perfect! I always leave with a smile after seeing these faces <3
If you have emailed me in the last three years, you've spoken to Tanya! This is Tanya, the Tanya! And as the saying goes in my circle of friends, "Everyone needs a Tanya!". Truly don't know how I survived so many years without her <3
